1950 - The first Special Education Class was started.
1960 - Adult Group Homes
1962 - Sheltered Workshops
1963 - Volunteered Support to bring Special Education Program to Memphis State University (now the University of Memphis)
1969 - Started Summer Camps
1972 - Lobbied for the passing of the Mandatory Education for all exceptional children in Tennessee
1973 - Adult Activities Center
1978 - Child Care Program
1980 - Special Olympics Program
1985 - Family Support Program
1990 - National Employment Training Program
1991 - Summer Youth Program
1993 - Disability Awareness Program
1994 - Changed name to Mid-South Arc and started Home Trainer Program
1995 - Career and Awareness Classes
1996 - Occupational Skills Training Program
1996 - lst Annual Awards Gala Program
1997 - Job Readiness Classes
1998 - Changed Employment Program to Career Development and Job Placement Program
1998 - Advocacy Training Workshops
1998 - March Madness - Celebrating National Disability Awareness Month
1999 - Implementation of the waiting list project, " The Waiting Wall"
2001 - 50th Anniversary Celebration & Organized Computer Training Program
2002 - Travel Training Career Development Satellite Campus & Main site expansions to new training space
2003 - Community Participation
This new program will offer individuals the opportunity to build relationships and natural supports within the community. It will also provide opportunities to experience and participate in community exploration, leisure activities, hobbies, and community events, etc.
